Students learn about the abstract works of Kandinsky as inspiration for their drawings that emphasized lines and values. 5th hour:6th hour:Students were introduced to both 1 and 2 point perspective. They had to complete a sketch of each then choose their final perspective. They had to create a city using their chosen perspective and include: 7 buildings, 15 details (windows, doors, signs, roads, etc.) and a surprising detail you wouldn't normally see in a cityscape. 2nd hour:8th hour:Students designed three different masks before we picked their best design to create their final. They painted and added details to finish up their masks. Check them out below: 5th hour:6th hour:Students had to make a very exaggerated expression for their tiki sculptures. They had to first carve their foam block then add paint. Below are their final pieces: 1st hour:7th hour:Students worked to make totem sculptures using paper. They had to choose an animal to make out of paper and then add 3D elements. They turned out awesome. Check them out below:
